Mean Deans Local Kitchen helping Hurricane Milton victims
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - When disaster strikes, that’s when certain people step up and make a difference in the world.
Despite having to deal with their own headaches to their restaurant from the destruction of Hurricane Milton, the staff at Mean Deans Local Kitchen are doing what they can to help our community.
Michele Angell, Co-Owner says, “Well we wanted to do what we could, and this is one thing that we knew we could do because we have the space for it. We made a Facebook post and told anyone to bring in any donations that they could. Cleaning supplies, nonperishable food, bottles of water. Our guests took us right up on that.”
It’s not just for people affected. They also had a “buy a lineman a burger” special going on where customers helped purchase food for the people who help us.
Dean Donnelly, Co-Owner says, “We are a community restaurant. We are trying to do our part for the community. We have great locals, tremendous locals.”
Collecting donations and buying lineman meals isn’t all. They even provided 125 meals for a mobile home park that lost everything. This is why the Suncoast supports Mean Deans like they do.
