SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A cold front moves across the Suncoast Sunday morning with rain and thunderstorms. The peak time for the storms is 7 AM to 9 AM for coastal areas, 8 AM to 10 AM farther inland. By Noon, skies are clearing for the rest of the day, although gusty winds out of the south-southwest will continue. Rip currents are likely with the strong winds. Rainfall amounts of 0.25″ to 0.50″ are possible, with another round of rain Monday. Skies clear Tuesday with cool temps in the 60s. But 70s return by the end of the week.
We could get a break from significant rains for several days, with the next best chance for moisture holding off until after Valentine’s Day!
