SARASOTA (WWSB) - A cold front will sink south across the Suncoast today while the upper air support for strong storms lifts away to the northeast. The combination of daytime heating and higher humidity brings us a small risk that a few of the storms that form could produce wind gusts strong enough to be deemed severe thunderstorms. The risk for tornadoes is very small. Our greatest risk will be gusty winds, heavy brief downpours and lightning. The timing of the storms remains just before noon in Manatee then sinking south into Sarasota and Hardee and DeSoto between 1 and 3 pm.
