Rob Wells is a proud member of the ABC7 family.

A Columbus, Ohio native, Rob has had a second home along the Suncoast for the past decade, but finally made Sarasota County his permanent residence.

He currently anchors Good Morning Suncoast Weekends, and serves as a multi-media journalist weekdays.

Prior to joining ABC7, Rob served as a reporter and substitute news anchor at ABC 6-FOX 28 in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

He is also a licensed realtor in Ohio, and proud member of the National Association of Realtors.

Before Columbus, Rob served as a weekend news anchor and general assignment reporter at ABC 22-FOX 45 in Dayton, Ohio, and, in the same role at WKBN-WYFX TV Youngstown, Ohio.

After graduating from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!!), Rob began his career as a morning and noon news anchor, then later, primary evening news co-anchor at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Rob’s attributes his passion for excellence in journalism from his grandparents. His grandfather was founder and editor of the first weekly suburban newspaper and publishing company in Central, Ohio.

When he’s not at the anchor desk, Rob enjoys traveling, and spending time with friends at the gorgeous Suncoast beaches, and checking out the diverse arts and entertainment the region offers.

He also likes visiting family that reside in Boca Raton.
