Nerissa Lamison is the Afternoon and Early Evening News Anchor with the WWSB ABC7 News Team. Nerissa is proud to call Florida her home for more than 20 years. You can watch Nerissa weekdays co-anchoring the 4 and 7 pm newscasts.
Nerissa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio/TV and Journalism from California State University at Long Beach. She received her Master of Science Degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. A 25 year plus veteran in the news industry, Nerissa started her career as an intern at CNN Business News in New York City. She got her first on-air job as a Reporter in Sarasota and is so excited to return to the desk on the Suncoast. Through her broadcast career Nerissa worked as an Anchor /Reporter at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania, WFLA-TV News Channel 8 and WTVT Fox 13’s Good Day in Tampa. Nerissa has also worked as a freelance journalist for the Maury Povich Show and Aviation International News. Nerissa has covered everything from the anchor desk and out in the field from hurricanes and presidential visits to red carpet events to just about every type of local news story there is in the community.
While a big part of Nerissa’s career has been on-air, the last decade has also been dedicated to training and passing on her experience to the next great generation of broadcast journalists. Nerissa is the Department Chair of Hillsborough Community College’s Radio-TV and Film program where she teaches Broadcast News, Radio and Field Production courses.
Nerissa is married to her husband Paul and they have 3 daughters Emily, Kate and Ava. She is also the proud fur mama to rescue kitties Pogie and Thor.
