Linda Carson, Co-Host of Suncoast View, has been at ABC 7 for 26 years. Linda started her television career, as the "Weather Girl" on Channel 11 in Atlanta.
In 1965 she became one of the first two female television news reporters in Atlanta, and one of the first female prime time TV news anchors in the country. Linda won several awards for her coverage of Dr. and Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta and met her husband, Bud Carson, on a TV interview when he was Head Football Coach at Georgia Tech.
They were married when Bud became Defensive Coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Linda joined KDKA -TV as a Weather Anchor, then Weekend Sports Anchor. When Bud moved to Los Angeles to become Defensive Coordinator of the Rams, Linda joined KTTV- TV in Los Angeles as a News Reporter. And as Bud moved around the NFL, Linda followed working at 12 stations in 9 markets.When Bud was Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns, Linda worked as the Consumer Reporter at Cleveland WKYC-TV. At ABC 7 she was in the classroom with President Bush on 9/11, won an award for her series on serial killer, Danny Rolling, and gained international fame, when video of her getting knocked down by a goat at the Manatee County Fair went viral.
