Grayson Martin named ABC7 Athlete of the Month for October

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - This week, we present to you the ABC7 Athlete of the Month for October. The honor goes to Riverview High School’s Grayson Martin.

He’s in his senior season with the Rams, and they just wrapped up their regular season.

Now, it’s on to the postseason, and they’ve got one goal in mind. However, it all starts with the guys up front.

“I think it’s about all of us, especially the whole O (offensive) line,” Grayson said. “I think we lead the team. We’re going to be the reason we win or lose.”

Part of the passion that Grayson has for this game comes from the fact that he gets to spend time with his father, Ron Martin, who is a member of the Riverview coaching staff.

“I can’t express just how proud I am of him, as a young man,” Ron said. “Not just football, but with everything in life. He coaches his little brother’s flag football team. I just get emotional just thinking about how good a young man he is.”

We were able to surprise him recently with something special. ABC7 partnering with Carl Reynolds Law to award Grayson with this check for his hard work, dedication and willingness to help others.
