Android app will help deploy first responders faster

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - An app can help dispatchers get to a scene and help visualize what kind of scenario they are facing.

When Louise Barthel’s husband fell off a boat in Walton County, Fla. she used the RapidDeploy app to help aide to get to her more quickly.

She used the video feature, that allowed 911 responders to see what’s going on and mapping helped them get to her in Dolphin Cove.

Responders were also able to help her start the boat by looking at the ignition. The new app helped saved her husband’s life.

As of now the app is only available to Android users. It is free.
