SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Springlike weather will be felt across the Suncoast today. An expanding area of high pressure and a southerly wind flow will bump temperatures to the low to mid-80s from coast to inland locations this afternoon.

This warm weather streak will continue into the weekend and likely put December in many Florida reporting stations’ top 10 lists for warmest on record. That warm streak will come to an end on Monday.

This Sunday, a cold front will approach. Winds will pick up out of the southwest and humidity will spike. Scattered showers will pop up in the afternoon and overnight as the front moves past.

Then on Monday, the temperatures will fall at least 10 to 12 degrees. It will be a brief cool down into the upper 60s for highs before the temperatures climb back into the 70s on Tuesday. However, the drier air will linger at least into mid-week.
