MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on the north edge of the Myakka River State Park in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers say the motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Myakka City, was riding south on M&J Road, north of Clay Gully Road, at about 3:45 p.m. At the same time, a van was traveling north on M&J Road.

The motorcyclist turned left in front of the approaching van at a driveway entrance in the 4400 block of M&J Road, where the two vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, troopers say. The investigation is ongoing.
