SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Sarasota County confirms that all 16 beaches in the county have red tide notification signs posted.

Officials are continuing to monitor red tide levels in the bay daily. You can check local beach status by clicking here. For now, most red tide effects are minor with only a few fish kills reported.

Red tides form many miles offshore, sometimes causing no impact to humans. However, when red tides travel inshore on wind and water currents, they can cause respiratory irritation.
