NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - A pedestrian was killed trying to cross U.S. 41 in North Port Tuesday night, city officials said.
A spokesman for the City of North Port told ABC7 that a 48-year-old woman was attempting to cross the highway just after 11 p.m., when she was hit by a vehicle. It was confirmed that the pedestrian died.
North Port police shut down southbound U.S. 41 in that area until around 1:45 a.m., Wednesday.
