BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Bradenton Police have identified a juvenile suspect in a homicide that occurred Sunday night.

Police were called to the 1900 block of Fifth Street West where they found 38-year-old Julio A. Reyes with a gunshot wound. Reyes was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

A news release issued Monday by the Bradenton Police Department said a juvenile suspect has been identified. This shooting makes the third one on the Suncoast in less than a month that has involved juveniles.

Residents in the community of this shooting tell ABC7 that they don’t believe the violence is gang-related, but they say they are seeing more and more crime. The residents believe the uptick is crime are just kids who make poor decisions when they somehow get ahold of weapons.

The investigation by the Bradenton Police Dept. and the Manatee County Homicide Investigation Unit continues and more information will be released at a later date.
