Florida COVID-19 cases increase slightly; positivity rate steady

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The latest COVID-19 positivity rates dipped slightly in Tuesday’s report. The Department of Health is reporting a 5.87% positivity rate statewide. Manatee and Sarasota are reporting rates of 6.35% and 5.41% respectively.

The state is also reporting 4,505 new cases bringing the statewide total to 1,952,733. Since Monday, 125 new deaths have been reported bringing the total death toll to 31,889. An increase in the death total does not indicate that all deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.
