Chalkboard Champion: Creating relationships even behind face masks

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - “We’re all in this together basically and that’s the slogan we’ve been living by and the expectations are still there. They’re willing to work and willing to put in the effort and I’m here whenever they need me,” said Meredith Pierce.

Pierce is a 5th grade teacher at Palmview Elementary. She understands how difficult the last year has been.

“The biggest thing with the pandemic because we’re all in the same boat is just building those relationships with them and the staff,” she added.

Principal Kaththea Johnson describes Pierce as passionate.

“She’s just absolutely wonderful. She has passion for what she does. She’s so creative. She has an all around love for children,” Johnson said.
