Venice, Fla. (WWSB) - A scheduled water outage will be underway this Wednesday as work on the Water Main Replacement Phase 6 continues.

The affected areas will include:

  • 1111 Avenida Del Circo
  • 510 East Airport Avenue
  • 520 East Airport Avenue
  • 550 East Airport Avenue
  • 500 East Base Avenue
  • 1406 Ringling Drive

A Boil Water Advisory means that you will be required to boil water, or use bottled water as an alternative while drinking and/or cooking until the advisory is lifted after 72 hours. The project itself is listed here on the Venice Government website. Those who have downloaded “Alert Sarasota County” has received notification as well, including nearby businesses and most residents. The project is a part of the Venice Utilities Department, and is a continued renovation of the city’s 90-year-old utility system. The cost of the project is roughly $10m yearly to update water and sewer systems. Questions about the advisory and project can be reffered to the City of Venice Utilities Department at 941-480-3333.
