SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Warm southeast winds will move in on Thursday allowing temperatures to reach the low to mid 70′s. We will see a slight increase in cloud cover in advance of the next cold front. Skies will be partly cloudy on Thursday with winds picking up a bit in the afternoon.
Thursday night expect increasing cloudiness with a 40% chance for showers late in the evening through the early morning hours on Friday. The line of showers that will move through will bring some gusty winds at times but only some moderate rainfall is expected at this time most of it occurring after midnight.
Friday we will see winds shifting to the NW an picking up to 15-20 mph. Look for small craft advisories for area waters through S
aturday morning. There will be some cold weather clouds or stratocumulus clouds rolling in at times during the day on Friday with temperatures holding in the upper 60′s.
Friday night we will begin to see some clearing as a cold high pressure system builds in behind the front. The temperature to start the day on Saturday will be around 50 and only warm into the low 60′s during the afternoon on Saturday.
Saturday night expect clear and chilly conditions with lows in the upper 40′s. Sunday will be sunny dry and cool with a high of 65 degrees. The winds will be calming down a bit on Sunday as well.
Monday we will see another cool day with highs in the upper 60′s and clouds on the increase in advance of the next storm system. The rain chance with the next front is at 40% late Monday through Tuesday.
For boaters on Thursday expect east to southeast winds at 10 knots and seas running 2-3 feet. Expect a light chop to turn into a moderate chop later in the day.
