PALMETTO, Fla. (WWSB) - A Palmetto man is in jail after police say he tried to run over someone and then threatened them with a baseball bat.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Barry Wayne Willis got into an altercation with someone on Dec. 22. The victim told police that Willis had been targeting him for months when he was out on his scooter. Willis was in a vehicle during this confrontation and the victim says that he removed a baseball bat from the trunk and threatened him with it.
Police say Willis took a swing and the victim was able to block the blow with his arm.
Witnesses saw Willis leave the scene. He has been charged with Battery/Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
