SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Eta is a tropical storm again with 40 mph winds as it contiues to move north in the Caribbean near the Cayman Islands Saturday. The storm will move across Cuba this weekend and into southern Florida by Monday. The latest track continues the previous trend with the storm moving west into the Gulf of Mexico late Monday into Wednesday. That is our time to feel the effects of Tropical Storm Eta. This is still close enough for 30+ mph winds (and higher gusts) and rain off and on, including some heavy rains possible. This will be the case up to and including Veterans Day on Wednesday. By Thursday the storm could move more to the northeast toward northern Florida.
There is still much uncertainty will the exact track of the storm during the week. We will continue to monitor the storm with frequent updates over the weekend!
