SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - On Thursday night, the Miss North Port Panthers Softball team found their board room vandalized.

North Port Police Department says the vandal or vandals broke the lock off the door then sprayed the fire extinguisher all over the room leaving a white haze on everything.

Alex Champion, the team’s president, says he knew something was wrong when he found the lock missing on the door.

“As I walked around the corner to the door there was no lock no longer on the door. So something about a little off. And I open the door up there was tons of powder on the floor I noticed some of the trophies were smashed on the floor as well,” says Champion.

North Port Police says the vandals didn’t get away with any money but took the fire extinguisher.

The softball team has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for the damages.
