Troopers looking for Hit and Run driver that hurt motorcyclist on Monday

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Troopers are looking for a dark colored 2011-2014 Hyundai Sonata that fled a crash scene at 26th St. W. & 38th Ave. W., in Bradenton on Oct. 19 at 7:33 p.m.

FHP SWFL: The Hit and Run driver seriously injured a motorcyclist. Anyone with tips is encouraged to contact FHP or Crimestoppers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol:

The Hyundai Sonata was southbound on 26th Street West, approaching a traffic signal at the intersection with 38th Avenue West in the left turn only lane.

The Motorcycle was northbound on 26th Street West, approaching a traffic signal at the intersection with 38th Avenue West in the inside lane.

The driver of the Hyundai Sonata entered the intersection and negotiated a left eastbound turn.

In doing so, the Hyundai Sonata violated the right of way of motorcycle.

The front of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the Sonata. After this collision, the driver of the Sonata completed his/her turn and continued to flee the scene heading eastbound on 38th Avenue West.

The motorcycle continued to travel in a northwesterly direction while overturning and came to final rest on its right side in the southbound left turn only lane of 26th Street West facing south.

The Driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local trauma center with serious bodily injuries.
