BRADENTON BEACH, Fla. (WWSB) - Manatee County officials have provided an update on a fire that closed the Coquina Beach South Boat Ramp on Sunday.
County officials say that the vessel caught fire in the early morning hours on Sunday. Currently, they aren’t sure if the boat was tied up or leaning against the north side of the boat dock.
The site re-opened late Sunday afternoon after the boat was removed from the scene.
The north side boat dock received some damage from the burning vessel and remains closed. A vendor will assess the damage this week and provide an estimate for cost and time of repair for the north boat dock. No injuries were reported.
Coquina Beach South Boat Ramp is temporarily closed after a boat fire damaged it this morning. That’s all the detail we have for now. Please be safe on the water today. pic.twitter.com/fdNt6XBKYv
