Track your IRS stimulus payments now
We’ve gotten multiple reports of people getting their money deposited today.
(WWSB) - The IRS stimulus tracking payment section is now working and you can see when your payment is scheduled to deposit or check the status and eligibility.
The “Get My Payment” tool will guide users to submit banking information so that they can receive their stimulus checks more quickly. Paper checks may not go out until May.
If your bank account information has changed since you have filed taxes, you can also update your information.
Those who earn up to $75,000 in adjusted gross income and have a Social Security number are set to receive a $1,200 payment. Married couples who file joint returns will receive $2,400 if their adjusted gross income is under $150,000.
Parents will receive $500 for each qualifying child.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is also warning Floridians of scams. The IRS will never call, text, or email you about your stimulus check. To learn more, click here.
Despite some reports to the contrary, the IRS says that everything is working well within the website.
“The Get My Payment site is operating smoothly and effectively. As of mid-day today, more than 6.2 million taxpayers have successfully received their payment status and almost 1.1 million taxpayers have successfully provided banking information, ensuring a direct deposit will be quickly sent," reads a statement from the bureau. “IRS is actively monitoring site volume; if site volume gets too high, users are sent to an online “waiting room” for a brief wait until space becomes available, much like private sector online sites. Media reports saying the tool “crashed” are inaccurate.”
If a banner tells appears that tells you that your “status is not available” there are ways to confirm your eligibility for the stimulus check. Click here to see if you meet all requirements. I
