Police dive team remove sunken boat from Sarasota Bay

Sunken Boat Removal

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The City of Sarasota is taking action after the owner of a sunken boat refused to remove it from Sarasota Bay.

Police say the 26-foot cabin cruiser was submerged in eight feet of water with the bow breaching the surface, causing a navigational hazard, but the owner refused to remove it.

Tuesday, the police dive team got in the water to get it out of the bay and says Public Works will destroy it.
