SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A Sarasota man turned $30 into $1 million when he bought a winning scratch-off ticket from Florida Lottery.

Christopher Van Brandt bought a Gold Rush Special Edition scratch-off ticket from Suncoast Energy on Butler National Drive in Orlando and won. The 27-year-old opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $700,000.

The retailer who sold the ticket will get a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
