Florida District Expands Efforts to Trap Pythons

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - There is a more concentrated effort to get rid of invasive Burmese Pythons in Florida.

The South Florida Water Management District agreed to double its number of python hunters.

The district pays trained hunters an hourly wage and a bounty based on the sizes of the snakes.

Since March of 2017, the hunters have removed more than 2500 pythons.
