SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A 70-year-old Sarasota woman is dead following a crash involving four vehicles Sunday night at University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge.

Troopers say around 8pm, as three vehicles heading eastbound were turning left onto Lockwood Ridge Road, 34-year-old David Buncik of Sarasota, who was driving westbound, ran a red light, hitting all three vehicles.

The driver of the first vehicle struck, a 17-year-old Sarasota woman, was unhurt. In the second vehicle struck, the driver, 38-year-old Michelle Baltaji of Virginia, suffered minor injuries. Her passengers, Abed Baltaji, an infant less than 1-years-old, suffered critical injuries and 70-year-old Audrey Kramer of Sarasota was killed.

The driver of the third vehicle struck, a 63-year-old Sarasota man, suffered minor injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol says Buncik, who was uninjured, fled the scene on foot but was found and returned.

They say their investigation is ongoing.

Though our initial reporting indicated five vehicles were involved, it now appears as the fifth vehicle at the scene was not a part of the crash itself.
