BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - A 26-year-old motorcyclist has died following a Sunday night on State Road 70 in Bradenton.
Around 10pm, troopers say Floyd Laycock was driving his motorcycle west on State Road 70 in the left lane, approaching 1st Street East, when 23-year-old Robert Pusey of Parrish made a left hand turn in front of him.
Laycock’s motorcycle hit the front left side of Pusey’s vehicle and Laycock was thrown from his motorcycle, which caught fire following the crash.
Laycock suffered critical injuries and was taken to Blake Medical Center. He passed away on Tuesday.
Pusey suffered minor injuries and his 22-year-old male passenger, also from Parrish, was unhurt. Troopers say they have charged Pusey with failing to yield the right of way.
The roadway was closed for a time as investigators examined the crash scene.
