Clam Restoration Funds

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - More money is on the way to keep Sarasota Bay beautiful.

This week, “Sarasota Bay Watch” received $100,000 from the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation to boost clam restoration efforts.

The population of the southern hard shell clams, which are native to Sarasota Bay are at historic lows and help clean the water.

The funds will allow for nearly 750,000 clams to be placed in the bay.
