BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Police have arrested a woman who they say was panhandling outside Subway and pulled a knife on a woman when she was asked to leave the property.

According to deputies, 27-year-old Katherine Collins was panhandling outside of the Subway located in the 3500 block of 1st Street East on Thursday when the victim made contact with her in an attempt to have her leave the property.

The victim told deputies she walked up to Collins and told her to leave the front of the store. That’s when the victim says Collins pulled out a knife and threatened to “mess her up.” The victim went inside to call deputies and says Collins pushed the door in her face before walking off.

Deputies arrived and found Collins walking towards 5th Street East. She was detained and after a search, a knife was located. Deputies say they also found small baggies that contained a white, powdery substance and four needles. The substance tested positive for meth.

The victim identified Collins as the woman who attacked her.

Collins was arrested and charged with felony possessing a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
