FL Implosions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WWSB) - An old power plant in Jacksonville is slowly being torn down.

On Friday morning, a wrecking company conducted two simultaneous implosions of a smokestack and boilers at the St. Johns River Power Park.

The smokestack was 640 feet tall and the boilers were 240 feet tall each, but it only took seconds to fall.

Those implosions are the last ones on the site, but crews are still clearing the lot.
