Weekend shaping up to be a good one as high pressure kicks in

Heat wave for SE U.S. next week

First Alert Weather - 6:00pm May 17, 2019

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Look for a nice weekend as we will see generally fair skies, warm temperatures and little chance for rain. We will see a mild start to the day on Saturday with lows in the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.

With an east wind throughout much of the day at 5-10 mph temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s for inland areas and mid to upper 80s near the coast. A little sea breeze will develop later in the day and may spark an isolated shower or two but most areas will stay dry. The rain chance less than 20%.

Sunday look for another beautiful day with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s and warm up into the upper 80s to low 90s once again by the afternoon. The rain chance will be less than 20%.

This warm and rather dry pattern will persist throughout much of the work week next week as well.

For boaters expect winds out of the SE at 10 kts. and switch around to the SW later in the afternoon and seas running around 2 feet or less.
