SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Dry air and building high pressure take our rainfall chance to next to nothing. Only an isolated shower chance today to the south and well inland. Otherwise the dry conditions will be accompanied by a warm east wind that, when combined with lots of sunshine, will bump temperatures to near 90 degrees. The fire index for the Suncoast remains low but is climbing. Some inland counties in Florida have moved into the high danger category for wildfire spread. Over 40 legal burns have been authorized for inland locations and, with an east wind, the smell of the burn may be in the air for some residents.
The weekend looks warm and dry. Boating weather should be consistent with an east wind and afternoon sea breeze with a light chop. The highest rain chance will be Sunday and then it only will be 20%. Temperatures will stay near 90.
