BRADENTON (WWSB) - A Bradenton man died yesterday in a motorcycle crash in Manatee County.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019 around 7:45 p.m. on US-41 a crash claimed the life of 22-year-old Elier Perez as he was driving a 2006 Honda CBR60 motorcycle. Florida High Patrol says Perez was driving northbound in the right lane of US-41.

As he was headed toward the left-hand curve, he missed the curve and drove onto the paved east shoulder. FHP says the motorcycle hit a guardrail face and continued to move down the rail.

FHP says Perez and the motorcycle separated, hit the embankment and continued to move down to rail. The right side of the motorcycle hit the bridge wall, then the left side of the motorcycle hit the west shoulder guardrail and eventually came to a stop.

The victim was found on the grass of the embankment. FHP says he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
