A gradual warming trend through the rest of the week

Rain chances lower and a bit more sunshine for Wednesday

SARASOTA (WWSB) - The weather will be getting back to more typical weather for May here along the Suncoast. Last week we got a taste of summer with temperatures in the low to mid 90s and afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Now we will see a return to mainly dry warm weather through the next 7 days due to some dry air and a large sprawling high pressure system.

We will see partly cloudy skies on Wednesday with a slight chance (20%) of a few scattered showers. The high on Wednesday will be around 85 degrees.

Thursday’s low will be 68 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Once again with the dry air in place we can expect a very small chance for a late day shower or two with a high around 86 degrees.

Temperatures will only get warmer as we head to the weekend with highs in the upper 80s at the beaches and low 90s inland areas with a 20-30% chance for a late day storm.
