SARASOTA (WWSB) - A man who held up the Chick-fil-A on Fruitville Road in Sarasota Friday night is still being sought after managing to slip past a police perimeter.
There was a heavy police presence at Fruitville and Honore Friday night after a man walked into the fast food restaurant around 10:15pm with a silver/chrome pistol and demanded money from the employees, later fleeing on foot.
Police established a perimeter and searched, but did not find the suspect.
The video shows the man walk in with his handgun already drawn and a book bag zipped open to have cash placed in. One of the employees opens a drawer and hands over the money. The man then flees.
The entire encounter only took around 40-seconds.
The man is described as white, around 6’ tall with a slim build, and in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a dark jacket and pants, a black cap with the Superman logo on it, black gloves, and had a yellow bandanna on his face.
