Sarasota-Bradenton Airport see passenger traffic increase for April

SARASOTA-BRADENTON (WWSB) - If you traveled in the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport this past April you probably saw an increase in passenger traffic.

The Sarasota-Bradenton Airport traffic increase was up to 40%, according to the airport. The airport says 183,119 passengers were traveling through the airport.

The Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has an annual economic impact of over 1.33 billion dollars per year and generates over 12,000 jobs, and a payroll exceeding $475 million, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The increase may be due to two new airlines that have been added to the airport: Allegiant Air and Frontier Airlines. This includes 23 new routes and 18 new destinations. According to the airport, there are now 8 airlines providing nonstop service to 29 destinations at SRQ.
