VIDEO: 16-inch-water main break hit in Longboat Key leaves dozens without water

LongBoat Key public works to restore water for residents

LONGBOAT KEY (WWSB) - Dozens of residents in Longboat Key are without water due to a water main break that occurred Saturday afternoon.

The incident affected the majority of residents in the Sleepy Lagoon subdivision. ABC7′s Russ Yodice was on scene and told us private contractors were laying in cable yesterday, drilled in the ground and hit a 16-inch-water main around 3 p.m. Saturday.

ABC7 spoke with Isaac Brownman, the Longboat Key Public Works Director today who said crews have been on scene since the incident working to restore the water. Brownman tells us the water should be back on within a few hours.
