Teen pulls out knife on campus

BRADENTON (WWSB) - An attempted robbery took place at Johnson Middle School on East 26th Avenue in Bradenton Friday morning.

Deputies say around 11am a 14-year-old boy put a knife blade to another student’s ribs and told him, “This is a robbery.” The victim ran away in fear and immediately told the school’s student resource officer.

The SRO promptly located the 14-year-old student, detained and searched him. Deputies say the approximately 3″ folding pocket knife was located in the young man’s backpack.

The teen was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

No one was injured in this incident.
