Deputies need help finding missing teen with mental health issues who jumped from moving vehicle, fled

BRADENTON (WWSB) - Deputies in Manatee County are looking for a missing 18-year-old girl with mental health issues who jumped from a moving vehicle and fled from her father.

Aliza Hernandez was picked up by her father from Centerstone Behavioral Health on Thuesday, where she had been evaluated under Baker Act criteria. Around 4:20pm, while her father was driving home, deputies say they got into a disagreement and Hernandez jumped from the car while it was located at 51st Avenue and 15th Street E in Bradenton.

Deputies say during her visit to Centerstone, Hernandez was prescribed several medications for mental stability and she has a history of being hospitalized under the Baker Act. She fled without that medication, any money or a cellphone.

The sheriff's office has searched several locations but has not found her. Deputies say they do not believe she was injured when she leapt from the vehicle and that she gave no indication of wanting to harm heself.
