SARASOTA (WWSB) - NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal stopped in Sarasota on Wednesday as part of the Ringling College Library Association’s Town Hall Lecture Series.
Growing up, Shaq said he was a juvenile delinquent and was always in trouble. His father finally told him to be a leader, not a follower, so that’s what Shaq says he’s tried to do ever since.
Basketball was Shaq’s route to college, but once he got there, he says he realized that he needed something to fall back on. That’s why he got his master’s and doctorate degrees.
Now, he’s not only a four time NBA champion, but also a businessman and media personality.
