VENICE (WWSB) - Tuesday, Sarasota County Commissioners will hold a public hearing to discuss a new hospital in Venice.
The project is proposed for East Venice Avenue not far from the Jacaranda Roundabout.
The development would include a 600,000 square foot hospital that would have 290 beds, a 65,000 square feet medical center, a helicopter pad, and would be no taller than five stories.
The proposal has some neighbors concerned a hospital would create too much traffic on an already busy road. There also has been talks of widening Venice Avenue from two lanes to four to help divert traffic.
For those interested in attending the public hearing, it will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon in the Robert Anderson Administration Center.
