VENICE (WWSB) - Churches have always been a place for people to feel safe. However, in today’s reality, many believe there needs to be more done to ensure this safety.
On Wednesday morning, there will be a Church Safety and Security Training at the Venice Community Center to do just that.
It will be led by Suncoast resident – Jim Howard. Howard was just 16 years old when his father shot and killed a deacon of a church in Texas.
Since then, he’s devoted his life to learn how to identify warning signs and potential threats around him, and how leaders can take steps to handle situations like these in order to better protect the church and those inside.
The training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To sign up, please call 727-534-6047.
