SARASOTA (WWSB) - If you’re searching for some weekend activities there are various events highlighted in the Suncoast.
Music on Main
Music on main returns tonight with live music on main street in Lakewood ranch and the proceeds will benefit the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund.
Tonight, event-goers will also be celebrating the event’s 25th anniversary.
Music on main kicks off at 6 p-m tonight. Once again, that takes place on main street in Lakewood ranch.
Orchid Show
Saturday and Sunday the Sarasota Orchid Society’s 61st annual orchid expo show and sale is coming to the Sarasota auditorium.
The theme for 2019 is “For the Love of Orchids,” it will spotlight thousands of award-winning orchids displayed by orchid vendors and local orchid societies. You can talk to growers, attend seminars, and purchase some really unusual orchids to take home.
Bradenton Boat Show
If you resolved to spend more time on the water in 2019, the Bradenton boat show is the place for you. You can check out all the latest boats, accessories, fishing equipment and attend fishing seminars. It’s today though Sunday at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
Perlman Music Program
At the Perlman music program Sarasota celebration concert. See Itzhak Perlman, one of the greatest violinists in the world, conduct the PMP chorus and string orchestra at the Sarasota Opera house Saturday at 5 pm.
Venice Antiques Show
Saturday and Sunday at the Venice community center, it’s the annual antiques show. It features over 50 national and regional exhibitors with art glass, pottery, fine art, jewelry, Asian and European antiques, Americana. It also showcases furniture, sterling silver and toys.
Big Cat Circus Show
After touring around the country for the last 15 years, the Zoppe family will finally be performing for their hometown crowd in Sarasota. The show is an equestrian-based circus show with blends of acrobats and dancers.
The show will run from Friday, January 4th until Sunday, February 3rd.
Lights in Bloom
This is the last weekend to enjoy lights in bloom at Marie Selby botanical gardens in Sarasota.
Over one million lights illuminate the garden and walkways have been transformed into sensory light tunnels.
Visitors can stroll through the magical gardens filled with lit flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and more.
In it’s fifteenth year, lights in bloom has become a tradition for residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday season on the suncoast.
