SARASOTA. Fl (WWSB) - A teacher from the Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) was selected as a United Nations Sustainability Ambassador.

Todd Brown, PhD., creator of the SMA “Inspire Project” curriculum and winner of the “Ignite Innovation” award from the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, has been selected as a Teach Sustainable Development Goals Ambassador for the United Nations.

According to a release from SMA, Dr. Brown will work to support and enhance the work of the United Nations’ efforts within K-12 classrooms through the organization’s 2030 agenda.

Goals include advancing the work of the UN in relation to education through advocacy, outreach and informational services throughout the global community.

“I am honored to receive the prestigious opportunity to serve as an ambassador on such a large scale,” said Sarasota Military Academy Teacher, Todd Brown in the release. “Being involved in this global organization is something that will not only allow me the chance to make a difference in a new way, but also allows me to show our cadets what is possible when you dream big, take advantage of opportunities and open your eyes to what’s happening around you.”

Sarasota Military Academy is a public charter school and college preparatory academy with two campuses located in Sarasota, Florida.
