FHP: Pedestrian killed in accident on University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Rd.

SARASOTA (WWSB) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident near University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Road.
State troopers say, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed.
The accident happened around 6:30 Friday morning.
Troopers are still on the scene investigating.
Two westbound lanes of University Parkway are blocked, but one remains open.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
