NASA engineers create masterful jack-o-lanterns during annual contest

NASA pumpkin contest

PASADENA, CA (CNN) - This is what happens when NASA puts on a pumpkin decorating contest for Halloween.

Engineers at a NASA lab in Pasadena, California took part in the annual contest and they did not disappoint.

The rules are simple: no planning or carving during work hours.

The grand prize for all this wickedly-intricate work? Just bragging rights.

The annual competition is now in its seventh year.

NASA says it’s a great way for engineers to bond as a team and flex their creative muscles.
