SARASOTA, CO. FL (WWSB) - The tropical system in the Gulf will continue to draw moisture across our area from the deep tropics on Tuesday.
This SE flow will bring a good deal of cloudiness and a good chance for showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Suncoast. We can expect an additional 1-1.5" of rainfall with some of these fast moving storms.
It will be windy as the pressure gradient tightens up a bit. Winds will be out of the ESE at 10-20 mph. Wave action generated from the cyclone will be high over the next couple of days. Dangerous rip currents will be a problem along areas beaches through Thursday.
Expect mostly cloudy skies on Tuesday with a 60% chance for showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Wednesday will be the first day of summer. We will see partly cloudy skies still with a good chance for mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms although the rain chance will be lower.
It dries out for Friday and much of the weekend as the rain chance lowers to 20-30%.
