Tracking two tropical systems in the Atlantic basin

SARASOTA, CO. FL (WWSB) - Two June storms at the same time is indeed a rare event.

It looks like we will see that as the potential tropical cyclone in the Gulf is expected to become Tropical Storm Cindy on Tuesday.  Tropical storm Bret is bringing heavy rain and 40 mph winds to the lower Windward islands at this time.

Both of these systems are not expected to develop into hurricanes and in fact should stay on the low side of tropical storms.

Cindy

Heavy rain mainly for LA

Bret

Expected to dissipate by Thurs.

Interesting to note that Bret developed in the deep tropics something that doesn't happen very often.  Usually June storms develop in the Gulf, W. Caribbean or near the Bahamas. Could be an interesting season.

Tropical cyclone #3 will bring us some heavy showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday. This will be mainly in the afternoon and evening.

We will also see breezy conditions on Tuesday along with rip currents along area beaches.

Stay tuned and be prepared this season.
