FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Weak cold front approaches

SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) -  A storm system moving through the SE U.S. will sweep a weak cold front our way on Thursday.

This front is not expected to change the weather much for our area as it will lose a lot of its punch as it gets close.

We will see a slight increase in cloudiness and only a very small chance for a few widely scattered showers as the front fades over the top of us.

We will once again see the possibility of some fog forming before sunrise and it could get thick in some areas for commuters.

Temperatures will stay a few degrees above average through Sunday and then another slightly stronger cold front will move in on Christmas day. This front will bring only a slight chance for a few showers with temperatures cooling down the near seasonal averages.   Seasonal average for this time of year is 73 for a high and 55 for a low.

Winter officially begins at 11:28 a.m. on Thursday.

Have a great Thursday.
